Following its hiatus, Persipura Jayapura is now ready to back on stage along with PTFI who provides fund support amounted 2.5 billion rupiahs for the club's operational. This support is aimed to succeed Persipura participation in the 2015 General Sudirman Cup tournament. The MoU was signed by Corporate Communications Vice President, Riza Pratama and Persipura Manager, Rudy Maswi on Friday (11/13) in Bali, witnessed by all Persipura team members.

PTFI President Director Maroef Sjamsoeddin says, ”This support is aimed to improve Persipura’s team performance. We want Persipura to back on track of its glorious success in the national football league."

As the primary sponsor of Persipura for 5 consecutive years, PTFI is proud of Persipura’s performance in competitions in both local and regional stage. In 2013, Persipura won the Indonesia Super League (ISL) for the fourth time, and in 2014 Persipura succeeded to reach the big four round in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) cup as well as became the ISL runner-up.

Popular as the “Black Pearl”, the team believes to achieve accomplishment in its comeback to the national football arena. “We are optimistic to achieve a proud accomplishment in 2015 General Sudirman Cup as a present to all our long-loyal supporters who have been waiting their proud team back in the national tournament,” said Rudi Maswi during the MoU signing between Persipura and PTFI on November 13, 2015. “With PTFI’s support on our trainings and team operational, we aim to be the champion of this tournament,” Rudi added.

Since becoming Persipura's primary sponsor in 2012, the supports provided were not just material ones. In 2013, PTFI launched Persipura Mobile App – the very first ever mobile application owned by football club in Indonesia. This application features various information on Persipura, including ranks on participated competitions.

In addition, PTFI also held coaching clinic presented by Persipura players to the students. In the occasion, the players shared their techniques and knowledge to the young football enthusiasts. The coaching clinic was expected to result talented players in Papua and Indonesian football.

PTFI’s support to Persipura is also proofed PTFI’s commitment towards sports development in Papua region. One of other supports that also counted is the construction of the Mimika Sport Center that will be completed in 2016, and will be utilized for the 2020 National Sports Week (PON Papua).

“Persipura has echoed Papua. Its achievements in ISL and AFC Cup proofed that Papua has a proud potential. We are looking forward for all Persipura players to give their best performance in the upcoming match. Keep on fighting and echoing Papua and Indonesia,” said Riza Pratama. (Corpcomm)
