PTFI Becoming the Best in Carrying Out Duties
PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) achieved an award from Bank Indonesia (BI) for being one of the Best Foreign Export Proceeds Reporters (Devisa Hasil Ekspor/ DHE) for category Non-Financial Institution Business. This award is conferred on companies that report their export proceeds (DHE) accurately, completely and in a timely manner, as well as participate actively in DHE reporting discussions conducted by BI. Submitting information on export proceeds is mandatory under BI Regulation No. 13/20/PBI/2011 concerning Proceeds from Export and Offshore Loan.
This award was presented by Executive Director of BI Economic and Monetary Statistic Department Hendy Sulistiowaty, and was accepted by PTFI VP & Controller Asiroha Situmorang during a BI Year-End Gathering held on Wednesday (12/5) in Jakarta. The award was conferred by BI in appreciation of PTFI’s DHE reporting, considered one of the best among 2800 reporters in 2012.
PTFI DHE reports is maintained by Finance & Accounting Department, in cooperation with Export & Import Department and Sales & Marketing Department. Excellent reporting system and solid coordination between related departments has enabled PTFI to meet all reporting requirements and submitted the report on time prior to the due date determined by BI.
Since January 1, 2012 BI mandates all exporters to receive their export proceeds at domestic banks and to report them to BI. DHE reports consist information on export proceeds received at domestic banks which will be compared against export data from Export Declaration Document (PEB). DHE reports are submitted monthly and delivered directly to BI or through bank. DHE reports are submitted by exporters –individuals and companies, and banks who deal with export transactions.
The new DHE regulation aims at strengthening Rupiah exchange rate, national macroeconomic stability and developing domestic money market.
The DHE award was also presented to other multinational companies, namely Adaro Indonesia, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Citibank, Sumitomo Mitsui and Hongkong & Shanghai Bank. (Photo/Text: sb)
