03 April 2025

TEMBAGAPURA, 3 April 2025 – Thousands of PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) employees in the work areas of Tembagapura and Kuala Kencana, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, and Gresik, East Java, celebrate Eid al-Fitr 1446 H with warmth and a strong sense of togetherness.

"Amid our busy work schedules, we must always remember to pray and worship, seeking the divine intervention of Allah so that He may grant us the best resolution to the challenges we face," said Vice President Central Services PTFI Akhmad Ulya Hidayat, representing PTFI’s management in Tembagapura, Monday (1/4).

PTFI employees held Eid al-Fitr prayers in congregation at three locations: the Tembagapura Football Field, Baiturahman Mosque in Kuala Kencana, and Babussalam Mosque at the PTFI Smelter in Gresik, East Java.

Employees performed the solemn Eid prayer and followed by listening to the sermon. Afterward, they gathered to strengthen social bonds (silaturahmi) and attended an Open House at the employee housing area. This tradition is upheld annually and has become a momentum to strengthen ukhuwah Islamiyah or strong bonds of relationships among Muslims and also an opportunity to enjoy a variety of traditional Eid delicacies.

Akhmad said Eid al-Fitr in the PTFI’s work areas serves as a meaningful occasion to foster stronger bonds among employees and management, who come from diverse cultural backgrounds.

“PTFI is committed to creating a harmonious work environment, providing employees the opportunity to celebrate religious festivals either at the workplace or with their families," said Akhmad.
