Freeport has exceeded 75% of its Employees Vaccination Target

02 September 2021

“PT Freeport Indonesia’s vaccination of employees have already exceeded 75% of its target, The exact figure is 77.92% or 21,102 employees who have been fully vaccinated. Among them there are 6,147 persons  or 22.70% who have received the first dose and 14,955 or 55.22%  the second dose,” said company VP Government Relations Jonny Lingga to Harian Papua  through a WhatsApp message on Thursday (9/2/2021)

According to Jonny although  the numbers have exceeded the targets the policy to restrict public activities will only be lifted in stages with workers going and coming from work to strictly keep following health protocols. Fully vaccinated workers need no antigen rapid tests anymore but those having received only one dose still need antigen rapid tests.

“Although targets have been achieved , the restrictions like Shift Day Offs (DS)) will not immediately be lifted. Everything will be lifted in stages and conditions will still remain “Not Norma”l,” he said.  The numbers of Covid-19 cases in the PTFI area are declining said Johnny, There are  at the moment only 19 positive cases left with 3 still receiving treatment in the Tembagapura General Hospital. “But Covid 19 has not entirely gone. The virus is still around,” he said.
