11 December 2021

PT. Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) held a 2021 Christmas Worship and Celebration while still strictly implementing the Covid-19 Health Protocol centered at the Tembagapura Sport Hall building, on Friday, 10th December 2021.

This activity was also attended directly by PTFI leaders and employees at the Bethlehem Kuala Kencana church and at Plaza 89 Jakarta through PTFI's zoom and YouTube channels.

President Director of PTFI, Tony Wenas in his speech said that in accordance with the PTFI Christmas theme in 2021, all PTFI employees are asked to love each other as brothers and always remind each other especially regarding the Covid-19 health protocol.

He also admitted that he was proud of the work of all PTFI employees so that PTFI's production could run safely and achieve the target. According to him, these results can be achieved because of God's work.

"It's a most wonderful time of the year, Christmas. The theme of Christmas that is taken this year is the Love of Christ in moving brotherhood. How it should be done in our daily work lives, in our lives with everyday society, which all of them are our brothers and sisters. And we have to love and care for our brothers and sisters, and we also remind them that even they are a little stubborn, especially when they have a lot of stubbornness, which includes health protocols, we must always remind each other. I am very proud our Covid-19 number (PTFI) has reached 0 from a few months ago 1000 per day. This is of course is the result of hard work from all of us. I am also very proud and very happy that our production can run safely with achievable targets. This is all because God blesses us," said Toni when attending the PTFI Christmas event in 2021 at the Tembagapura Sport Hall, Timika, Papua.

In addition, Toni also conveyed Merry Christmas 2021 and Happy New Year 2022 to all PTFI employees, and hopes that in 2022 all employees can contribute more to the nation and state of Indonesia.

"My message is also to all PTFI employees, let's work in a safe, secure way, by continuing to prioritize sustainable safe production and continue to work for the nation and state as well as for the community. To all PTFI employees I wish you a Merry Christmas 2021 and welcome the New Year of the year 2022, with the hope that in 2022 we can achieve even more production targets in a safe manner and continue to contribute not only to shareholders, including MIND ID, but also to our beloved nation and country, for the glory of God's Name, " he said.

Meanwhile, the General Head of the 2021 PTFI Christmas Committee, Yan Pieter Sibarani, in his report said that the 2021 PTFI Ecumenical Worship and Christmas Celebration could be carried out because of God's grace.

"I also express my gratitude to all PTFI management levels, my colleagues, all participating contractors, and to all PTFI Christmas Committees for 2021, both in Tembagapura, Kuala Kencana and in Jakarta, as well as supporters of the event so that the implementation of the Ecumenical Worship and PTFI Christmas Celebration in 2021 can be held successfully and safely for the glory of God's Name," he said.

As a preacher at PTFI's Christmas Service, Pdt. Chris Manusama revealed that in friendship, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ must be involved or something must be invested, which is Loyalty to God.

"There are three levels of faith growth of believers in Jesus Christ. The first level of believers is called "Son", then the second level is "Friends", and the highest level as the pinnacle of human civilization is "God's Beloved". The requirement for a believer to be 'married to Christ' in the context of this "lover" is Mature, meaning to beautify the believer's spiritual life and remain faithful to God," he said in his Christmas message.

The PTFI Christmas celebration in 2021 was hosted by MCs Piter Ginuny and Angelica Senggu and was enlivened by performances from various talents possessed by PTFI employees such as the choir, little drummer boy, The PTFI Children's Choir sang Happy Birthday Jesus and Joy to The World on audio-visual recordings, as well as the performances of PTFI leaders and employees on audio-visual recordings singing We Are The World.

The joy of the 2021 PTFI Christmas celebration was also complemented by the offering of spiritual praise from Angel Pieters.

On the sidelines of the preparation of the event, when Salam Papua had the opportunity to interview the singer who started his singing career in the 2008 Little Idol talent show, Angel said she was happy to be involved in praising God at PTFI's Christmas Celebration in 2021.

"I'm very happy to be here. (In conjunction with this 2021 Christmas Theme), God is Love. So in my opinion, all of that can come to God without any conditions in a context where religion is currently compartmentalizing everything with various regulations. Just like, if you do certain things, then you cannot come to God. God is not like that, because I believe whenever we make a decision to come to God, God will surely accept us. I also believe that God is always with us," she said.

The excitement grew even more and it was surprising when PTFI President Director Tony Wenas also offered praise to God. The former vocalist and keyboardist of the famous 80s band, Solid 80, sang the song "You Raise Me Up". Even though at the age of 59, he looks relaxed when playing the high notes in this song.
