PT Freeport Projects to Contribute IDR 1,200 Trillion to the State Until 2041

13 July 2023

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) President Director Tony Wenas said that from 1992 to 2021, PTFI had contributed around IDR 400 trillion to state revenues. "Until 2041, it is planned that around USD 80 billion (IDR 1,200 trillion) would be distributed. This will be in the form of taxes, royalties, dividends, and others," said Tony when receiving a working visit from Vice President Ma'ruf Amin at IPN Kuala Kencana, on Wednesday, July 12.

Meanwhile, for regional revenues, Tony said PTFI would contribute IDR 8.7 trillion in 2022, and this year, it is projected to be IDR 8.5 trillion. Regional revenues are sourced from royalties sharing from the central government, income tax, land and building tax, surface water tax, motor vehicle tax, groundwater tax, and a share of the company's net profits. "So, the total is IDR 8.7 trillion for last year and IDR 8.5 trillion for this year," said Tony.

Tony explained that since 1992, PTFI has disbursed around IDR 30 trillion in terms of social investment. Most of it is allocated to education and health, which are PTFI's leading programs. "For last year alone, there were around 122 million dollars or nearly Rp. 2 trillion," he said.
