Celebrating the 4th Anniversary, State-Owned Enterprises’ Mining Industry Holding, Mining Industry Indonesia, or MIND ID, hold a social Charity Week. This Charity Week has been held for 2 weeks ahead the celebration of MIND ID Anniversary on 27 November 2021. Representing the PTFI and MIND ID, Group Leader Community Affairs, Samuel Rorimpandey explained this year’s MIND ID Charity Week is focused on providing additional foods for children in the kindergarten and elementary school. “This is one of PTFI and MIND ID's efforts in providing kindness and benefit for the wide community,” said Samuel.
This activity was simultaneously carried out in the operational areas of mining companies that are members of MIND ID, such as PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT. Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero), and PT Timah Tbk. In PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI), the MIND ID Anniversary’ Charity Week was carried out on Thursday (18/11/2021) by providing assistance in three places in Mimika, among them are Nangmora Kindergarten – Gerbang Terang Timur Foundation (Amungme Tribe), YPPK Elementary School (Kamoro Tribe), and Simon Petrus Kindergarten Baru Street (7 Tribes).
“The assistance provided was in the form of nutritious additional foods for children in the Kindergarten-Elementary School level, teachers, as well as assistants,” he explained. The Charity Week was started in the morning by hands over the assistance in the Nangmora Kindergarten, then continued by the hands over of assistance to the Simon Petrus Kindergarten and YPPM Miyoko Elementary School. Besides the hands over of nutritious additional foods, the team also carried out a public education regarding the importance of the COVID-19 vaccination and the COVID-19 impacts on students, teachers, and community. “We hope this assistance can improve children's health, nutrition and immunity and be able to survive the unfinished COVID-19 pandemic," he said.
