To commemorate World Environment Day, PT Freeport Indonesia and the Taruna Papua Boarding School (SATP) conducts a waste management training workshop using the Eco-Enzime method Wednesday (31/5/2023). The workshop involved participants from the Kuala Kencana Women's Association, GKI Women's Association Klasis Mimika, MT Masjid Hidayatulah, (Majelis Taklim), Children's Community of the Mimika Anti Garbage Movement (Kamgas) and Politics of Amampare Timika. "SATP has launched an education program on utilizing waste in the school area to become something that can be utilized especially for the lives around us," said the Committee of PT Freeport Indonesia for Environmental Day, Emilia Farida Ubra.
Head of SATP, Johana MM Tnunay, expressed his gratitude to PT Freeport Indonesia for entrusting SATP to educate and understand the public regarding waste management using the Eco-Enzime method. "And we hope everyone can share this waste management experience with the surrounding," he hoped.
SATP has developed waste management using the Eco-Enzime method to make various products ranging from soap, shampoo, perfume, hand sanitizer, and so on.
Commemorating World Environment Day, PT Freeport's activities are not only centered in Mimika. The mining company will also hold various activities in the capital of Central Papua Province, Nabire.
