Freeport and Employees Distribute Sacrificial Animals to Residents Around the Company's Operational Areas

Gresik, June 9, 2025 – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) and all employees celebrating Eid al-Adha 1446 Hijri held Eid prayers and distributed 35 cattle as sacrificial animals in areas around the company's operations.

A total of 13 cattle were distributed to several mosques and Islamic boarding schools in the Manyar District and the Bungah District, Gresik Regency. Meanwhile, 22 cattle were handed over to residents in Timika, Central Papua.

"Eid al-Adha is a moment for sharing. This activity represents the company's care for surrounding residents and is part of efforts to strengthen relationships with the community. We hope this contribution brings benefits and happiness to the recipients," said PTFI Vice President Business Process Smelting & Refining Aripin Buman in Gresik, Monday.

He explained that this activity is a corporate social responsibility program held annually as a form of care for residents around the company's operational areas, as well as a moment to continue growing and developing together with Gresik residents sustainably.

For the distribution of sacrificial animals around the Gresik Smelter, there were 13 locations in Manyar District and Bungah District, namely in nine villages (Manyarejo, Manyar Sidorukun, Manyar Sidomukti, Karangrejo, Banyuwangi, Kramat, Watuagung, Tajungwidoro, Bedanten) and four Islamic boarding schools (Qomaruddin, Al Islah, Ibrohimi, and Al Amin).

"Qurban worship is a symbol of sincerity and care. We are grateful that Freeport is helping to bring these values to life in the community. May this assistance become a lasting good deed and strengthen the relationship between the company and the community, and may this good relationship continue in the future," said the Head of Al Ibrohimi Islamic Boarding School in Manyar District, Gresik Regency, KH. Moh. Zainur Rosyid.

Meanwhile, the distribution of sacrificial animals in PTFI's operational area in Papua was carried out by the Freeport Indonesia Muslim Community Foundation (YMM FI) together with the Qurban Implementation Committee (P3RQ YMM FI), which this year collected sacrificial animals. A total of 22 cattle from 158 PTFI employees and contractors have been distributed to the poor, needy, and mustahik (those entitled to receive) in the Timika area and several other regions in Papua. The total beneficiaries reached approximately 2,600 people.

"On behalf of all foundation administrators and committee members, we express our deepest gratitude to PTFI employees and contractors who have participated and supported the implementation of this activity. As a concrete form of supporting PTFI's commitment to the company value of Respect, this program also serves as a means to increase our faith and devotion to Allah SWT and encourage meaningful and sustainable social contributions for the surrounding community," said Chairman of YMM Freeport Indonesia Furjiyanto.

Furjiyanto said that through this activity, PTFI affirms its commitment to continue growing and developing together with communities around operational areas, both in Gresik and Papua, by prioritizing values of care, togetherness, and sustainability.
