Freeport Shares With 1.000 the Poor and Orphans In Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) in this Holy Month of Ramadhan 1442 Hijra initiated attention in the form of an activity ‘Sharing with 1.000 orphans and the poor 2021’ throughout the cities of Jakarta, Bogor, Depok and Bekasi or Jabodebek. The President Director of PT Freeport Indonesia, who was contacted from Timika, on Sunday stated that said activity is one form of the company’s corporate concern.

Tony mentioned, as a company, PTFI has SINCERE values which comprise Safety, Integrity, Commitment, Respect and Excellence. “In line with said values the employees’ concern, their sharing shall, not be limited to just this Holy Month, however shall hereafter be continuous throughout our daily life,” thus invited Tony.

Approximately 1.000 orphans and poor children from 15 associations/foundations received assistance in the form of school supplies, praying articles, tumblers, snacks, masks, package of essential provisions and pocket money for every child. PT Freeport Indonesia also provided operational funding for each foundation.

Tony Wenas symbolically handed over the funds to the representative of the orphaned and poor children, whereafter he continued with a joint dialogue seen by hundreds of PT Freeport Indonesia employees who were in virtual attendance. The event was held virtually to comply with health protocols and prevent the spread of the Covid-19 virus; and was supported by the PTFI Muslim Community Foundation.

On this occasion Ustadz (Chaplain) Badri from the Mi’raj Muslim Foundation conveyed his gratitude to PT Freeport Indonesia and all the donors for their donations and also aid to continue implementing the foundation’s activities. “May PT Freeport Indonesia continue to be successful and enjoy effortless sustainable operation for the development of Indonesia,” thus said Ustadz Badri.
