BUMN Holding in Mining Industry MIND ID or Mining Industry Indonesia, along with its group members namely PT ANTAM Tbk, PT Bukit Asam Tbk, PT Freeport Indonesia, PT Inalum (Persero), and PT Timah Tbk distributed 4,160 books from the employee volunteering activities titled SENYAWA - 1 Buku 1 Kebaikan. The symbolic handover was carried out by the CEO of the MIND ID Group, Orias Petrus Moedak, virtually on August 6, 2021, to 22 Reading Gardens or Taman Baca around the operational areas of MIND ID Members.
"This program is one of the culture movement implementations in MIND ID representing Noble Purpose in the daily life of MIND ID Group employees. The donation is expected to increase inspiration and knowledge within the children in the future," said Orias.
This program is the second period of the SENYAWA program implementation which donated books in the form of picture stories, picture dictionaries, skills, basic reading, writing, and counting (calistung), biographies, encyclopedias, entrepreneurship, fiction/novels, and motivation. Not only that, but MIND ID Group employees also put kindness and motivation messages in every donated book so that it is hoped to inspire hundreds of children around Taman Baca.
"Those books will be very useful for Taman Baca and the children. In addition to adding to the collection of books, children will also get interesting experiences because there are messages in there. It is hoped that the books inspire children to be more diligent in reading and actively pursuing their dreams," said Ely Sumantri, Manager of the Taman Baca Pondok Peradaban in Tayan, West Kalimantan.
