PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) has been awarded for its contributions and efforts in combating the spread of infectious diseases, namely AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM) in Mimika Regency, Central Papua Province. "PT Freeport Indonesia has received recognition from the Association of Health Offices throughout Indonesia (ADINKES) as an appreciation from the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Village Development and Transmigration for its contributions of human resources, materials, and funding in combating the infectious diseases of AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria (ATM) in Mimika Regency, Papua," stated Claus Wamafma, Director & Executive Vice President (EVP) of Sustainable Development at PTFI, on Monday, August 7, 2023, in Timika.

Wamafma was present at the national ADINKES meeting to accept the award presented by the Chairman of ADINKES, Dr. M. Subuh MPPM, on Tuesday evening (August 1, 2023), at the Gammara Makasar Hotel in South Sulawesi. "We express our gratitude and appreciation for the government's recognition of Freeport Indonesia. Our company operates in the Papua region, and alongside the local government, we support healthcare development for the people of Papua, especially for residents living in the vicinity of PTFI's operational area," said Claus Wamafma.

PTFI has incorporated the ATM control program into SDGs indicators 3.3.1, 3.3.2, and 3.3.3 as a contribution from the business sector.

This ADINKES award received by PTFI is a special recognition from the government to regions, organizations, and companies that have contributed to combating ATM diseases in Indonesia.
