11 July 2023

PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) handed over 1,150 basic food aid packages to support a series of social assistance activities (Bansos) organized by the Association of Retired Army Officers (PPAD) in Timika, which will be directly reviewed by Vice President (Wapres) KH Ma'ruf Amin on Monday.

The food packages were symbolically handed over by VP Community Relations of PTFI, Nathan Kum, to the Coordinator of Social Assistance Brigadier General TNI AD (Purn) Bambang Irianto in the Timika City Regional Military Command Office Hall on Monday (10/7) yesterday.

In his remarks, the Coordinator of Social Assistance, Bambang Irianto, said that social service was held in a multi-helix manner because it embraced government institutions from the Central, Regional, SOEs, Indonesian Military, National Police, Gatot Subroto Hospital, drug companies, and also organizations in the health sector. "PPAD is organizing social services in 2023 in four regions, namely January in Puncak Jaya, June on Buru Island, Maluku, July in Mimika, and August in Wamena," he said.

He hopes support from PTFI can be adequately channelled and provide maximum benefits for people in Mimika Regency who need it. "Alhamdulillah, in Mimika today, we received support from PTFI; therefore, on behalf of the PPAD leadership, I thank you," he said.

Furthermore, representing management, Nathan Kum said PTFI always supports positive programs from the government for the people of Mimika Regency. "Our presence here is to support the government’s programs, such as social assistance, which will be held tomorrow," he said.
