16 September 2022

The presence of the Bamanat Training Center (BTC) in Mimika Regency is said to have supported PT Freeport Indonesia in developing a competent and competitive Papuan generation. This was stated by the Senior Officer Papuan Relations Papuan Affairs Division PTFI, Carolus Wamafma visited by Salam Papua after the completion of 13 students of millwright training batch 1 BTC, at Waanal Coffee and Resto, Jalan Cenderawasih SP3 Timika, Mimika Regency, Central Papua, Thursday (15/15). 9/2022).

On behalf of the management, he thanked the Bamanat Training Center and other partners who cooperated and supported PTFI's program in local community development. "More and more professional partners such as Bamanat will work together, not only to promote business, but also to help support our commitment to developing competent and competitive local communities," said Carolus.

He explained that the current government's idea is to bring the professionals and practitioners closer to the community. For the academics, it is part of the training project which has been the responsibility of his party. "We are very concentrated on carrying out this mission, bringing the industrial world closer to the community," said the man who has worked for PTFI for 23 years.

His party is very grateful that Bamanat's presence, especially from the perspective of PTFI's operations, not only helps the core of the mining business but can also help translate PTFI's commitment to the government, especially the development of local communities.

Carolus, who worked at PTFI for the first four years in the Corporate Communications (Corcom) Department, advised the Papuan generation who already have job opportunities to understand that their work is a blessing from God. In work, he said that they also need to have the spirit to succeed. "We succeeded not because we did a match and then the new champion succeeded. It's not like that. We move from one point to another that makes our future better, it's called success," he said.

The Papuan native, who is in his second four years at PTFI assigned to the Department of Social & Local Development, said that when someone is still in school, they definitely want to graduate and have a job, but in reality, it is not that easy. Even though you have chosen a good major, the current job market is getting more and more difficult. So for those who already have job opportunities, they must really work sincerely because it is God's blessing.

"I have tips like that the first time I enter the world of work at Freeport, whatever I am assigned, I will do my best with all my heart, because this is thanks to God and I am sure that my future will be better," he said.

The man, who has served in the Papuan Affairs Division for 13 years, explained that in the world of work, he not only learns the work to be done, but also learns many things through interaction with colleagues from various departments and colleagues from all over the world. "It's a great investment," he said.
