We encourage the economic improvement of the Mimika community, one of which is the plantation sector. Through the Highland Agriculture Development (HAD) program, coffee has become one of the potentials that has good prospects and is developed as a source of income. Freeport Indonesia provides support for coffee farmers from upstream to downstream, builds a processing facility for the Amungme Gold Coffee Cooperative, and supports marketing by creating a cafe called Rumah Kopi Amungme Gold.

The cable car in our operating area is the highest in Indonesia, used as employee transportation access to the Grasberg area. The first train was built in 1971 and is still operating, while the second cable car was built in 1989. It uses electricity and takes about 7 minutes. During the trip, employees are also treated to the beauty of the mountains, and often penetrate the clouds because they are at an altitude of up to 3,500 meters above sea level.

Freeport Indonesia together with the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK) built the Papuan Taruna Dormitory School (SATP) to create a golden generation of Papuans in the field of education. SATP has an A accreditation and an international curriculum with complete facilities to support the teaching and learning process.Computer-based learning is also applied to make students more technologically proficient. The school with the boarding system is expected to be a place to form superior character for Papuan human resources.

Freeport Indonesia utilizes tailings into a product that can be reused for people's lives. These tailings are processed into building material products to support infrastructure development in Papua, ranging from concrete blocks, bricks, to a mixture of asphalt materials. Several roads and office buildings in Mimika Regency also utilize tailings in their construction.

Mama Papua's guidance in making Noken aims to preserve local wisdom and improve the community's economy.

Freeport Indonesia continues to innovate in developing procedures and systems to ensure worker safety and mining operational efficiency. One of them uses an unmanned train to transport mining materials at the Grasberg Block Cave underground mine.

The infrastructure development built by Freeport Indonesia does not only focus on adding physical facilities, but also on how these facilities can be a real support and process to improve the standard of living of the people in the operational area. We continue to do sustainable development as a form of contribution to the region and Papua's human resources, in collaboration with the Amungme and Kamoro Community Empowerment Foundation (YPMAK) and other partners through various development programs and quality services.

We use tailings together with the government to continue to multiply the added value for Mimika Regency and other areas in Papua. Infrastructure development with tailings has also been carried out to build a number of facilities in Papua, namely the main building of the Mimika Regency government office, the Mozes Kilangin Airport terminal building, the Pomako bridge, mining roads in the company area, to several roads in Merauke, Sorong and Trans Papua.

PT Freeport Indonesia's Emergency Preparedness and Response (EP&R) team is always ready to handle emergency situations in the company's area and is ready to help with national disasters throughout Indonesia.Emergency preparedness and response is part of our operational safety program.
