Jakarta – PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) President-Director announced today that Chappy Hakim will step down as President Director and return to an advisory role with the company.
In announcing this change, Mr. Hakim stated, “It has been an honor to serve as President-Director of PTFI and I have great respect for the company and its talented team. Serving as President Director of PTFI involves an extraordinary commitment of time, I have decided it is in the best interests of PTFI and my family to step down from my duties as President Director while continuing to support the company in an advisory role.”
Richard C. Adkerson, Chief Executive Officer and President of Freeport-McMoRan Inc., thanked Chappy for his contributions, saying, “We understand that this was a difficult decision for Pak Chappy to make. We appreciate his service to our company and his support. We look forward to his continued advice and counsel.”
