Women Empowerment Shows MIND ID ID’s Commitment in Supporting Employee Development

SOEs Holding Mining Industry MIND ID continues to be committed to supporting the development of its employees. Therefore, the MIND ID Group upholds the values of inclusion and diversity in managing human resources. In the exhibition event, The Indonesia HR Summit (IHRS) 2023 in Bali 19-20 June 2023, it was explained that groups or companies engaged in the mining and metal sector are usually identified with sectors dominated by men.

 

However, the MIND ID Group ensures equal opportunities for all employees, from recruitment, job appraisal, promotion, to remuneration decisions. "To become a global player, human resources (HR) is a strategic aspect in responding to global needs and challenges," said Corporate Secretary of MIND ID, Heri Yusuf.

 

Currently, MIND ID has a total of 10,843 employees and contracts, 20,855 outsourced workers, 15,381 employees who have completed OHS training (OSH Training), 99.58% ratio of MIND ID Group employees who return to work after maternity leave, 66.23 hours/worker for the average training hours per employee per year, and 10 percent is the percentage of female workers. Each MIND ID members is confirmed to have a female workforce.

 

The MIND ID group really upholds women's empowerment, both in the recruitment process, inclusion, and diversity. In addition to the fact that 10% of the employees at the MIND ID Group are women, 16.22% of the Board of Commissioners and Directors of the MIND ID Group are also women.

 

The number of female workers based on employment status in each member of the group; among them, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTAM) has 304 permanent female employees and 13 female contract employees, PT Bukit Asam Tbk has 292 permanent female employees and 16 female contract employees. PT Indonesia Asahan Aluminum (INALUM) has 150 permanent female employees and 4 female contract employees, and PT Timah Tbk has 273 permanent female employees and 7 female contract employees. There are 1,019 permanent female employees and 40 contract female employees.

 

Meanwhile, until 2022, around 964 local recruits serve as management and senior management in the MIND ID Group. This figure represents 8.89 percent of the total permanent workforce.

 

MIND ID Group Innovation Commitment

 

Each MIND ID member also owns their digital initiatives. For example, ANTAM has initiated hole marking, core marking QR code, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to analyze core photos. There is also a Virtual Assistant for Employee Service Desk Human Capital (VANESHA).

 

Meanwhile, PT Bukit Asam Tbk owns a CISEA mobile application for production and performance monitoring systems, coal scanners, and analysis. Meanwhile, INALUM has a smart system at the processing plant.

 

Furthermore, PT Timah Tbk has an Ausmelt TSL Furnace for mineral processing. Meanwhile, PT Freeport Indonesia has a hyperconnected network to unlock SmartMining 5.0 with 5G technology: Remote Loader Operation. In addition, the company also continues to improve non-staff skills for remote operations and automation, supported by the PTFI Professional Certification Institute.

 

INALUM and Telkom University won the Winning Innovator at BIGMIND 2022. The company made a technology developed in the form of Digital Transformation of Aluminum Smelting Through Machine Learning and Digital Twin.

 

The digital twin is a model duplicating all processes and physical objects into a digital form. Thus, business and operational processes can be optimized in digital mode before being implemented on actual physical objects.

 

According to Heri Yusuf, digitization of the Mining Industry has become one of the main aspects that concern the company. Operational transformation is gradually being digitalized to provide added value throughout the mining and mineral processing chain. "In addition, these efforts also aim to realize optimal and efficient operational activities," he said.

 

The digital application developed aims to maximize the company's business processes and operational activities. The efficient process aligns with the commitment to implementing MIND ID's pillar of sustainability, namely smart mining, and a commitment to implementing good mining practices.

 

MIND ID has also received various other achievements, including the MMI I Research Award (2019), MIND ID Goes Digital (2021), MIND ID Research Award (2021), and BIGMIND Innovation Award (2022). Participants from various fields with the categories of continuous improvement, new revenue streams, and green innovation attended this activity. The participants came from mining practitioners and employees, academics and students, start-up companies, the research and innovation community, and the general public.
